The moment I found out about my little one's food allergies, I thought there would be a lot of E-416 type ingredients that he should have located. What I did not imagine is that they would be hidden in foods that one does not imagine. Who would have thought that ham has milk? Or that the bread of the big surfaces has emulsifiers, prohibited for those allergic to eggs? The fact is that when you see the list of prohibited ingredients you get scared.
This is the list that I use to go to the supermarket:
PROHIBITED INGREDIENTS, HAVE EGG
E322 Lecithin (if you do not specify that it is from soy)
Emulsifier / Thickener
PROHIBITED INGREDIENTS, HAVE MILK
E101 Rivoflavin or lactoflavin
E270 Lactic acid
E325 Sodium lactate or Na lactate
E326 Potassium lactate or K lactate
E327 Calcium lactate or Ca lactate
E472b Lactic esters of mono and diglycerides of fatty acids
E478 Mixed esters of dietary lactic acid and fatty acid with glycerol porpylene glycol
E480 Stearoyl-2 lactylic acid
E481 Sodium stearoyl-2 lactylate
E482 Stearoyl-2 calcium lactylate
H4511 / E4511 Calcium caseinate
H4512 / E4512 sodium caseinate
animal fats and animal proteins
lactates, lactose, whey, powdered milk… ..
As at home there are also allergic to corn, I also put the list of prohibited ingredients.
ALEGY TO CORN
Corn protein can be found in the following ingredients:
caramel (corn syrup is usually used)
delta lactone glucose
monosodium glutamate E621
But the worst comes from checking the products that we usually have at home in the pantry and verifying that very few preparations meet the necessary conditions to give them to the little one. This is when the procession from supermarket to supermarket to locate suitable products begins. This takes time, and of course you always have to review each product before buying it because more than once they change the labeling to include traces or new ingredients. For the moment here I leave my shopping list that I hope to make it easier to consult with filters, photos and others, ... with time!
