Dry heelsHere are 5 DIY creams with natural ingredients to avoid the formation of cracks that can undermine the health of your feet.

The heels are one of the parts of our body that we tend to overlook; we rarely go into any treatment to keep them well hydrated and healthy. We do not realize it but an untreated heel leads to the accumulation of dead cells, calluses and other imperfections until it cracks due to too much dehydration!

It should be noted that it is an area exposed to the attack of fungi and bacteria and therefore cause infections or major problems

Fortunately, there are several do-it-yourself treatments and remedies that are really effective against cracked heels. On this page we will show you 5 home made remedies for the care and well-being of your heels.

Avocado and honey cream

Thanks to the high intake of fatty acids and vitamin E, present in this avocado and honey-based compound, we can create an effective treatment to relieve dry heels. Not only does it help repair cracked areas but also reduce the presence of dead cells and impurities.

What we need

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 50 grams of honey

How to proceed

  1. Mash the avocado pulp in a bowl then add the honey up
  2. Mix the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture
  3. Rub the mixture into your heels and leave for about 30 minutes
  4. After the time has elapsed, rinse with warm water
  5. Repeat the treatment 3 times a week.

Shea butter and coconut oil cream

By combining shea butter with coconut oil we will obtain a revitalizing and moisturizing treatment; an ad hoc compound for the care of dry and hard heels. The fatty acids present in the compound will create a protective barrier against microorganisms that lead to skin infections.

What we need

  • 100 grams of shea butter
  • 50 grams of coconut oil

How to proceed

  1. Put the shea butter in a steel pan and heat in a water bath
  2. As soon as it melts, add the coconut oil and mix the ingredients until the mixture is well blended.
  3. Leave to rest at room temperature
  4. After the necessary time, transfer the mixture into a glass jar before it solidifies.
  5. Apply the mixture on the heels and massage the heels with the fingers until completely absorbed
  6. Repeat the treatment every evening, before going to bed.

Papaya cream and olive oil

Thanks to its antioxidant action, papain, a substance present in papaya, promotes the cell regeneration process, thus preventing premature skin aging! By combining these two ingredients we will have a really good compound for hydration of the heels.

What we need

  • a few slices of papaya
  • 30 grams of olive oil

How to proceed

  1. Crush the papaya slices in a bowl with the help of a fork then add the olive oil
  2. Mix the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture
  3. Apply the mixture on your heels and leave for about 20 minutes
  4. Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly
  5. Repeat the treatment at least three times a week

Banana cream and vitamin E

Continuing with the natural remedies for cracked heels, we include the banana; an ideal ingredient for moisturizing dry and cracked skin. To enhance its effects, we can add vitamin E oil. By combining the two ingredients, we will obtain an effective compound for softening calluses.

What we need

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 capsule of vitamin E

How to proceed

  1. Mash the banana in a bowl and add the contents of one vitamin E capsule
  2. Mix well until you get a homogeneous mixture
  3. Apply the mixture on your heels and leave for about 20 minutes
  4. Rinse with warm water and cover your feet with socks
  5. Repeat the treatment every evening for at least 10 days

Vaseline and glycerin cream

Vaseline is effective in helping to moisturize the skin in case of dryness. To obtain an even more moisturizing action, we can combine petroleum jelly with glycerin.

What we need

  • 50 grams of petroleum jelly
  • 5 grams of glycerin

How to proceed

  1. Pour the petroleum jelly into a bowl and add the glycerin
  2. Mix the ingredients well until you get a homogeneous mixture
  3. Apply the mixture on the heels, until completely absorbed
  4. Do the treatment every night for at least a week
